Atlas — Today's Daily Puzzle

Guess the country from its name and location.

28 August 2026 Resets 00:00 UTCDifficulty: Easy to medium

Atlas is a free daily geography game: the target country's name starts fully masked, and every guess you make reveals one more letter of it while telling you exactly how far away — and in which direction — the real country lies from your guess. There's no map to stare at and no trivia to memorize; the distance and bearing feedback alone is usually enough to walk you to the answer within a handful of tries, and the flag itself only appears once the round ends. Free, no signup, one new country every day at 00:00 UTC, with unlimited practice in between.

Hints for today's Atlas

Open a hint only when you are stuck — they are ordered from gentlest to most direct, and none of them give the answer away.

Hint 1: Open with a guess near the middle of a continent

A central, well-known country gives you the clearest read on distance and direction — the feedback from an edge-of-continent guess is more ambiguous about which direction to correct next.

Hint 2: Direction matters more than distance early on

A big distance with a clear compass direction narrows the whole globe down to one hemisphere-ish wedge immediately. Chase the direction first; use the distance mainly to judge how far to move.

Hint 3: Combine the revealed letters with the geography

By your third or fourth guess you'll have a letter or two plus a tight distance-and-direction reading. Cross-reference both — a revealed first letter alongside 'close, slightly north' usually narrows things to one or two candidates.

We never publish the solution here — the daily board is shared by every player worldwide.

How today's puzzle works

  1. 1The target country's name shows on screen as a row of masked letters, so you know its length from the start.
  2. 2Type a country name and submit your guess.
  3. 3Every guess — right or wrong — reveals one more letter of the real name and shows the distance and compass direction from your guess to the real country.
  4. 4Use the distance and direction from previous guesses to narrow down where the target country actually is.
  5. 5You have six guesses. Get the country exactly right to win — the flag reveals once the round ends, win or lose.
  6. 6The daily country resets at 00:00 UTC and is the same for every player.
