Playing without an account
You can play every daily puzzle without signing in. When you do, your progress, streaks and statistics are stored in your own browser using local storage. That data never leaves your device unless you create an account, and clearing your browser data removes it permanently.
Accounts
If you create an account we store the email address you sign up with, an optional display name, and the game results you choose to sync. Authentication is handled by our backend provider; we never see or store your password in plain text. You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which removes your profile and synced results.
Payments
Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We retain only the subscription status and identifiers needed to keep your Pro access working and to handle refunds.
Advertising and analytics
The site displays advertising supplied by Google AdSense, which may set cookies to measure and personalise the ads you see. Ads are never shown inside a puzzle board. You can control ad personalisation through Google's own ad settings, and through your browser's cookie controls.
Push notifications
If you install the mobile app and opt in to daily puzzle reminders, we store a device push token linked to your account so the reminder can be delivered. Turning notifications off in your device settings stops the reminders, and deleting your account removes the stored token.
Your rights
You can request a copy of the data linked to your account, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to support@puzzletheory.fun and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy. Questions go to our contact page.
