Queens — Today's Daily Puzzle

One crown per row, column and region.

27 August 2026 Resets 00:00 UTCDifficulty: Medium to hard

Queens is a free daily logic puzzle: the board is divided into colored regions, and the goal is to place exactly one crown in every row, every column, and every region — all at once. Two crowns can never touch, not even diagonally, which is what makes the region shapes matter as much as the grid lines. There's exactly one arrangement that satisfies every rule simultaneously, and finding it is pure deduction, no guessing required. Free, no signup, one new board every day at 00:00 UTC, with unlimited practice in between.

Hints for today's Queens

Open a hint only when you are stuck — they are ordered from gentlest to most direct, and none of them give the answer away.

Hint 1: Start with the smallest region

A region with very few cells has very few legal spots for its crown, and often only one once you account for cells already ruled out by other regions. Small regions are almost always the fastest way into a board.

Hint 2: Mark, don't guess

Use the X mark liberally on any cell that a placed or implied crown rules out — its row, its column, and every cell touching it diagonally. A board that's mostly X's makes the remaining crown spots obvious.

Hint 3: Watch for regions confined to one line

If every cell of a region sits in the same row or column, that region's crown must go there — which means every other region can be ruled out of that row or column entirely. This single deduction often cascades through half the board.

We never publish the solution here — the daily board is shared by every player worldwide.

How today's puzzle works

  1. 1The board is divided into colored regions. Tap a cell once to mark it with an X, tap again to place a crown, and a third tap clears it.
  2. 2Place exactly one crown in every row, every column, and every colored region.
  3. 3No two crowns can touch — not horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
  4. 4Use the X mark to rule out cells as you narrow down where each region's crown must go.
  5. 5The board is solved the moment every rule is satisfied at once — the game detects it automatically.
  6. 6The daily board resets at 00:00 UTC and is the same for every player.
