Hints for today's Quintle

Open a hint only when you are stuck — they are ordered from gentlest to most direct, and none of them give the answer away.

Hint 1: Spend guess one on vowels and common consonants

Words like SLATE, CRANE or ROAST test five of the most frequent letters at once. A rare-letter opener feels clever but usually returns five greys, which teaches you almost nothing.

Hint 2: Do not chase a single green too early

Locking a known letter into place on guess two narrows your options but blocks you from testing new letters. Until you have three confirmed letters, prioritise information over progress.

Hint 3: Watch for double letters late

When you have four letters confirmed and still cannot land the word, the answer usually repeats a letter — think ABBEY, ERROR, GEESE. Most failed grids end this way.

We never publish the solution here — the daily board is shared by every player worldwide.
