Tango — Today's Daily Puzzle

Balance every row and column.

28 August 2026 Resets 00:00 UTCDifficulty: Medium to hard

Tango is a free daily logic puzzle: fill the grid with suns and moons so that every row and column ends up perfectly balanced, with no three of the same symbol ever sitting in a row. A few cells come pre-filled, and a handful of '=' and '×' hints on the edges between certain cells tell you when two neighbours must match or must differ. From there it's pure deduction — one unique arrangement satisfies every rule at once. Free, no signup, one new board every day at 00:00 UTC, with unlimited practice in between.

Hints for today's Tango

Open a hint only when you are stuck — they are ordered from gentlest to most direct, and none of them give the answer away.

Hint 1: Two of a kind forces the third

The instant two identical symbols sit next to each other, every cell touching that pair on either end must be the opposite symbol — otherwise you'd make a run of three. This single rule resolves more of the board than any other trick.

Hint 2: Finish a row or column early with simple counting

Once a row already has its full share of suns, every remaining blank cell in that row must be a moon, and vice versa. Scan for rows or columns that are one or two symbols away from their limit — they're usually solvable outright.

Hint 3: Chain through the '=' and '×' hints

An '=' or '×' hint is only useful once you know one side of it. Solve the plain cells first, then let each hint push its value onto the next cell, and the next — a single early deduction often cascades through a whole line.

We never publish the solution here — the daily board is shared by every player worldwide.

How today's puzzle works

  1. 1The grid holds suns and moons. Tap an empty cell to place a sun, tap again for a moon, and a third tap clears it.
  2. 2No more than two of the same symbol can sit next to each other in a row or column — three in a row is never allowed.
  3. 3Every row and every column must end up with an equal number of suns and moons.
  4. 4An '=' between two cells means they must match. A '×' means they must differ.
  5. 5Some cells are already filled in and can't be changed — build outward from those.
  6. 6The board is solved the moment every rule is satisfied at once — it's detected automatically.
  7. 7The daily board resets at 00:00 UTC and is the same for every player.

Today's Tango — FAQ

What is Tango?

Tango is a free daily logic puzzle. You fill a grid with suns and moons so every row and column is balanced and no three of the same symbol sit in a row, using a few pre-filled cells and '=' / '×' hints between neighbours.

How do you play Tango?

Tap a cell to cycle it through sun, moon, and empty. Keep every row and column balanced with no three of the same symbol in a row, respect the '=' and '×' hints between neighbouring cells, and the board detects the solve automatically.

Is Tango the same as LinkedIn Tango?

The core rules match — balanced lines, no three in a row, '=' and '×' hints. This version needs no account, adds unlimited free practice, and includes a timer and leaderboard.

Is Tango free?

Yes, the daily board and unlimited practice mode are both free with no account required.
